I have just completed my final round of the Finnish Open at Helsinki Golf Club. I posted rounds of 69, 74 to make the cut and then shot a final round of 73 to finish in joint 31st place.
Watch out for the full story in my blog update
I finished 38th at the Welsh Open at Conway Golf Club. A massive thanks to my three caddies for the week, my friends Donna Barnes, Scott Adams and my Dad Duncan. Well Done to my team of Tilly and Olivia in the Junior Pro-am even tho we were only a trio we managed to come 2nd and I had the most fun playing golf I've had in long time.

Corisande began playing golf at the age of 16. Her natural ability and determination meant that soon after she gained her handicap, it began to plummet!
After leaving school she attended Myerscough College, Preston, for two years to study on their Sports Science with Applied Golf course. During this time Corisande 's golf went from strength to strength as she practiced hard and moved up through the amateur ranks.
By the end of her time at college, she had set her sights on becoming a professional golfer.
Corisande joined The West Lancscashire Golf Club in 2004, where she currently holds the course record. She continued to play for her club and county while reducing her handicap to +3.
After a gaining regional and national titles as an amateur during the 2009 season, she decided the time was right to take her game to the next level.
Corisande finished in 44th place at the final stage of tour school in December 2009 and secured herself a conditional tour card for 2010.
In her spare time Corisande enjoys watching her favourite teams Burnley Football Club and Salford Rugby League Club.

My first tournament in Morocco was a fantastic experience, I posted scores of 75,77 finishing 8 over par and missing the cut by 4 shots.
I finished 5th in the Formby leveret with scores of 73-71 on 2 over par.
I competed in an Access Tour event at Dinard Golf Club in France. It was very cold and extremely windy making the scores very high. Rounds of 78-76 left me on 14 over par and I missed the cut by 4 shots. I struck the ball very well but very poor putting and short game left me very frustrated and with unusually high scores.
A new professional tour has been set up in Scotland this season called the XL TEC TOUR. I decided to play in the 36 hole event at Hilton Park Golf Club, north of Glasgow, as I wanted the challenge of playing against professional men and other Lady European Tour players. The event attracted both men and ladies who have, or still compete on their respective European tours. Ladies played the course ten percent shorter then the men but with the same par. I shot 68-69 to finish leading lady and 3rd overall collecting more money than the winner because a bonus was awarded to the best lady.
I haven't had any events so far in May as I narrowly missed out on playing in the Turkish and German Open. I've used my time to start a new fitness program working with John Barkley, a TPI coach ( titleist performance institute) and PGA professional who is based at Myerscough College. We are working on core stability and strength, upper and lower body separation, increased muscle flexibility, suppleness and strength and the most important aspect of all, injury prevention.
I have been working very hard on my game trying to base it more on the course encase I received a late call up for an event. My preparation has been going very well and can't wait to compete in Slovakia and Holland and experience a mini run of tournaments which will hopefully help me gain some competitive rhythm.
CFAB CHARITY DAY
I played in my first pro-am at Stoke Park Golf Club, in aid of Children and Families across the Borders. The charity golf day raised money for the organisation to help children be reunited with their families who have been separated by international borders. Families find themselves separated across borders as a result of many different reasons, whether its for work, migration caused by war, child trafficking or child abduction for forced cheap labour, the charity does a lot of important work to reunite these families and help them lead a better life. The charity is always on the look out for new events to add to their calendar in order to raise vital funds to help them continue their impressive work across the world.
If you think you could help the charity in anyway please contact them at:
info_cfab.uk.net
I was delighted to be part of the day because it raised a lot of money for the charity especially at the auction after the dinner. I played with three gentlemen from Vestra Wealth, Matthew, Ben and Doug who made my day very enjoyable, they were great company and we had a lot of laughs on the way round. I couldn't of asked to spend the day with a better team so I was incredibly lucky, so thank you guys. Vestra Wealth were very generous at the auction and had the winning bid for a framed Lewis Hamiliton signed t-shirt. Pictures will follow shortly.
SLOVAK OPEN
I competed in the Slovak Open at Grey Bear Golf Club at the end of May. The golf club was situated in the bottom of a valley that also accommodated a ski resort. The course was presented as two halves that offered many different challenges. The front nine was quite flat and open but the fairways were lined with thick rough that would swallow any wayward shots, the back 9 was very hilly and tightly lined with trees. Everyday we encountered dangerous thunder storms and extremely heavy rain which resulted in the course playing incredibly long. The greens were so undulating it looked like camels were burried under the surface which made putting interesting!
Thunder and lightening put an end to my first days golf after just two holes. I had the worst start imaginable, 3 putting from 12 foot on the 10th, and an out of bound 7 wood for my second shot on the long par 5, 12th combined with an unsuccessful up and down which left me with 4, 8 start and 4 over par. We had to continue the round at 6.30 am the next day, which meant a 3.45am start. We began so early because we had to fit in 34 holes and with the weather being so unpredictable we had to allow for any possible storm delays. I failed to find any rhythm when I returned to the course for the first round and after hitting another ball out of bounds on the 1st and frequent dropped shots I finished with a score of 82 on 10 over par. I found a little confidence in the second round and was 2 under through nine and I knew the course was playing difficult so I thought if I had any chance of qualifying I had to shoot 4 under par. At the turn it went horribly wrong, I dropped 3 shots in next two holes and blew any chance I had of qualifying, the slide continued for several holes and before I knew it, I was four over par and that's how I finished, 82-76.
DUTCH OPEN
I played in the ABN AMRO Dutch Open at Broekpolder Golf Club in Rotterdam on the 4-6th. I had half a day at home before setting off by car with my father to Holland via Dover. We drove through France and Belgium, arriving in Holland 13 hours later. We stayed with members of the golf club, Renee and Cecile who were fantastic hosts and fun to be around all week. The course was extremely long which proved its biggest defence because the greens were relatively flat.
My first round didn't begin very well, after splitting the fairway with my drive I proceeded to walk off the green with a double bogey due to nerves, but a birdie at the second helped me settle for a few holes. Several wayward drives and three putts contributed to a string bogeys after the turn, left me 6 over par after 13. A chip in on the 16th a par 3 and reaching the last, a par 5 in two, allowed me to pull 2 shots back and finish my first round at 4 over par.
Memories of warming up for my second round will stay with me forever. When I was warming up on the practice ground Laura Davis came and started hitting balls next to me and it made me realise just how far I have come in such a short time. The encounter on the practice ground inspired me to play my best golf of my short professional career, only missing two fairways and three greens. I peppered the pins all the way round and I not only failed to convert the chances I made but I 3 putted five times from close range. I finished with a very upsetting and disheartened 76, 4 over par to miss the cut my 4 shots. I felt so low about my golf especially with so much time to think about things on the long drive home, but I came to the conclusion that it doesn't get you anywhere focusing on all the negatives and that it is very important that I believe in myself more not less. Thanks again to Renee and Cecile for letting us stay.
SWISS OPEN
The Swiss open was held at Gerre Losone Golf Club between the 17-20th. We had a 100 mile transfer from Milan Malpensa airport to the course, passing Lake Como on the way where George Clooney has a place. It was so surreal because I had heard how beautiful the area and lake was in magazines and now had the opportunity to see it for myself and it didn't disappoint.
The course was set amongst the mountains which offered spectacular views. Helicopters flew constantly through the valleys dropping supplies off at the houses situated on the mountain sides. It was such a beautiful setting for a golf course but the downside was because of the mountains, when the weather turned nasty it was known to linger for most of the day. I had 9 holes practice on Monday afternoon and 18 on Tuesday; the key was to hit a long straight high ball off the tee because the ground was so soft that it was all carry which made the course very long. The Pro-AM had to be cancelled due to torrential rain during the night and up until dinner time, the course was saturated and a poor forecast for the remaining of the day made the decision easy, to preserve the course for the tournament. It rained none stop from Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon accompanied by thunder and lightening on the Thursday morning. I had a 8.10 tee-time on Thursday so I arrived at the golf club at 6.30am to be informed play would be suspended until at least 11am, another decision was made at 1pm that play would not commence that day because the course was flooded and subsequently it would be made into a 54 hole tournament.
I had the same early start the next day and it was a welcome change to be playing in dry weather. I didn't get off to the best start hooking it off the tee near a bush making a bogey, then another hooked drive on my 5th hole led to another bogey. I found a little more rhythm off the tee and managed to make two birdies, reaching the turn in level par. A steady run of pars and an excellent birdie on the 5th a short par 4, put me in a good position with four holes to play. A poor iron shot led to a three putt on the 6th and unsettled my nerves a little, my rhythm started to get faster and two hooked drives on the 8th and 9th made it impossible to reach the greens in regulation. Failing both attempts to save par, left me at 2 over par for the round.
PORTUGESE OPEN
I received a phone call on Monday to say someone had dropped out of the Portuguese Open and that I was in the tournament that would start on that Friday. I had to sort out flights and accommodation at the last minute and tie them with my flights that I had already booked to Tenerife first thing the Monday after. The only suitable flights to Lisbon were from Heathrow, so I had to drive down to the airport on Tuesday night to catch the first flight on Wednesday morning and drive home in the early hours of Monday morning to catch the 7am flight out of Manchester to Tenerife.
As soon as I got to the course I went straight out to play my practice round because I wanted to be in to watch the England match with the other British girls. The course was set in the countryside on the outskirts of Lisbon surrounded by apartments which made it feel very secluded. The course was extremely hilly and felt like an achievement just completing the round! The greens were very tricky because of the grain which proved impossible for me to read and judge the pace correctly. There were four extremely tight holes 5th-8th which proved the crucial part of the course for everyone.
The first round was going okay up until the 7th, where I had a double bogey after finding a lateral water hazard with my 2nd shot, a three putt on the par 3 the 8th because of a poor tee shot suddenly made me 3over par. I managed a birdie at the 9th after nearly holing my pitch. A three put from close range on the 14th and two short missed birdie putts on 15th and 16th required me to birdie the last a par 5 for two over par 74.
I knew I had to shoot level par or better to be in with a chance of qualifying the next day. I started from the 10th and so brightly, hitting it within 9ft on the first three holes but failed to convert the chances I created. A bad drive on the 15th which led to a bogey but I managed to pick the shot back up on the 17th, with an amazing chip from over the back of the green. I birdied the 5th a par 5 hitting the green in two to give myself a chance as I was 1 under par playing the last a short par 4. I decided to play the hole the same way as the first round, a 3 wood down the middle leaving 60 yards to the pin. However the pin was on the edge of a tier, tightly tucked on the left side of the green and I made the mistake of being too cute! I hit my pitch a little heavy, only carrying to the front of the green. I hit the pin with my approach putt and it finished 3 ft behind the hole, I miss read the putt and subsequently missed the cut by one shot. I shot 74 -72 finishing on 2over par.
TENERIFE OPEN
I arrived in Tenerife feeling very tired having not slept the night before because of the drive through the night from Heathrow. I landed at noon on Monday and had seven hours to wait before my friend arrived on a later flight, so I decided to get a taxi to the nearest golf club and spend the day practicing. When I arrived I met a lovely gentleman who turned out to be a reporter for the Tenerife magazine, while I had dinner I did an interview for the magazine, as it was covering the Tenerife Open that week. I would like to thank Golf De Sur for giving me courtesy of the course and use of a buggy for the day, I had a wonderful day playing with Bill who proved to be fantastic company.
The course was situated in the North of the Island on the top of cliffs over looking the Atlantic Ocean. The course was very unique consisting of 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par 5s. The fairways were quite generous with the greens proving the courses biggest defence because they varied in size, were incredibly grainy and had many slopes. The key was to position your ball so you always had an uphill putt and ideally into grain, because if you finished on the wrong part of the green you were left with an impossible shot.
My golf and course management had been improving over the last few weeks so I had developed some confidence coming into the tournament. My plan was to stay relaxed and try and play without fear like I do while having a practice round. I started extremely well teeing off on the 10th , making the turn at three under par, a few three putts and a wild shot on the 8th brought me back to level with one to play. I made an excellent birdie at the last to shoot one under par 71.
I started the 2nd round with the same rhythm as the first, getting to four under par for the tournament thru 28 holes. I started to miss-club through indecision, which lead to a ball being hit over the green and into the sea and several three putts because I finished on the wrong portion of the green, but five bogeys in six holes made me slip down the leader board rather than climb up it, I finished with two over par 74.
I had never been in the position of playing the last two days of a tournament because this was the first cut I had made in an LET event, so my plan was to be aggressive and try climb as far up the leader board as possible. My plan never really worked out, I seem to pick every wrong club possible and finish in places that I could not attack the pins or left very difficult chips, which lead to, too many three putts. Even though it was a very frustrating day I made it was not so disastrous carding a 76.
I stuck to my plan and continued to be aggressive in the last round. I hit the ball so well, never missing a fairway and only missing two greens in very windy conditions, giving myself lots of birdie opportunities. I did everything right that I could control, but the putts just would not drop so even though I shot 74 I was very happy with my golf and took a lot of confidence from my weeks golf.
THE BERKSHIRE(OPEN PRE-QUALIFIER)
On Monday the 12th I played in London fin the first stage of qualifying for the Ricoh British Open at Royal Birkdale Golf Club. My friend Donna Barnes kindly caddied for me, and it was so nice having company for a few days and someone to take my mind of golf while on the course. I didn't even think about the quality of the field or how little qualifying places that were available, all I thought about was enjoying my two days down south.
I stayed very relaxed and together we plotted our way round the course because most of the time it was not a driver I needed off the tee, I just had to play for position. I created many birdie opportunities even though I failed to capitalise most of the time but with four birdies and three bogeys I recorded a very creditable one under par 71 and finished tied for 5th, progressing to the next round on the 26th at Hillside.
FINAL QUALIFYING AT HILLSIDE
I played at Hillside in the final qualifying round to try and earn a place in the British Open at Birkdale later that same week. I had John Barkley my fitness coach caddying for the big occasion. I had high hopes going into the round because I had been playing very well and both practice rounds gave me belief that I could qualify.
I did not get off to the start I was looking for, hitting a stray second shot from a perfect position in the middle of the fairway leading to a bogey. It took me a few holes to get into the groove and after making birdie on the 6th after nearly holing my approach I was back to level par thru six holes. The rain started sweeping across the course and stayed for the next three hours up to the 15th hole. My golf went rapidly down hill after the 7th and I continued to possess no rhythm what so ever until the rain eased. Before I knew it I had lost two balls and was ten over par putting an end to any dreams I had of playing at Birkdale.
Thank you to all the people that came to support me and stayed even though the weather was so unpleasant.
After my disappointing display at Hillside I went up to Scotland to compete in my second XL Tec tour event at Westerwood in Cumbernald. My Friend Scott was back on the bag and decided to forget about Monday because I knew it was just one bad day and not worth destroying my confidence for. The course was quite spacious but the greens were small and very tricky.
I struck the ball well on the first day but did not really hit it close enough to make many birdies and my putting was not very precise so I hardly holed anything, the only birdie coming on the last a par five. A lost ball on a tight dog leg the 12th and finding a water hazard on the 17th proved to be another frustrating day at work recording a score off 74, three over par.
There were a lot of good scores from the men so I knew I had to shoot in the 60's to have a chance of moving up the leader board. A three putt on the first a par 5 from just off the fringe, made me want to pull my hair out and not what I needed considering the hard task I had ahead. A birdie at the short 4th, followed by a bogey at the next brought me back to level after 6th. I hit a wedge to 8ft on the short par 3 but after lipping out it proved crucial because I went to drop a shot at the next and this stopped me building up any kind of rhythm.
My playing partner Kylie Walker was only one shot behind me at the start of the last round but after she had holed four long putts I knew she had overtaken me. The game at the turn had turned into cat and mouse tousling the lead for the leading lady, which made it more fun. My goal was to make three birdies to finish, I made birdie on the 16th playing the hole to perfection and Kylie made bogey so I knew it was getting interesting. On the 17th we were side by side on the fairway apart from my ball was sat in an old divot, with me playing first, I hit an amazing shot finishing 8ft behind the hole. I failed to convert the opportunity I created but Kylie four putted to give me a bit of breathing space. I made a par on the last, which completed a score of 71 to finish leading lady by one and 13th overall, one shot outside the prizes.
WELSH OPEN
The Welsh Open was played at Conway Golf Club near Llandudno on the 12-15th. The Field was larger than normal due to the amount of sponsors invites and five spots allocated to WPGA (teaching pros) players. I was asked to take part in the junior pro-am on Wednesday night which I was delighted about because I love playing and working with juniors. Unfortunately I only had two girls in my team because the 4th member had injured herself, however the two sisters Tilly and Olivia certainly made up for any absence with fantastic banter. Me and my caddy Donna were in stitches with the encouragement the two sisters were giving each other. The pro-am was over 6 holes and we managed to come 2nd with 28 points, finishing with an amazing 7 points on the last hole.
The weather was unkind to the early people teeing off on Thursday, nearly 40mph winds, rain at times and very cold conditions, which my caddy and I had to experience. The plan was to just keep the ball in play and make bogey at the worst. There were several holes that I couldn’t reach in regulation because of the wind especially our first hole, the 11th was 371 yards into a hard wind, I hit driver, 3wood and was still 40yards short of the pin. It remained tough all morning and Donna was fantastic company and managed to help me laugh off mistakes and dig in deep when I needed it. My short game saved me on the back nine when the round might have slipped away. Seven bogeys and a birdie on the last helped me record a score of 78. After a while when the other early starters had completed their round mine was one of the best in, some very good players were shooting in the high 80s, so looking back it wasn’t so bad. Me and Donna went back out on to the course to watch Laura Davis for a few holes and relaxed for few hours.
My dad came to caddy for me on Friday and we had a great time on the course. I played the best round of my professional career to date and the best shot I have ever hit in my life. The conditions were easier and I took advantage of the situation. I shoot 1 under par but should of been more in the mid 60’s with the quality of my golf and the amount of chances I created. The 17th is one of the toughest golf holes I have played, normally into a strong wind, gorse surrounds the green and lines both the left and right side of the fairway, the narrowest part being at the landing area. The hole is 380 yards so I played a 3wood off the tee but into the wind I had 200 yards to go to the green, I knew I had to hit it low and hard to keep in straight and away from the bushes. It was played to perfection never moving off the pin and finishing 6 feet behind the hole. I failed to convert it into a birdie but kept the good score going.
I struck the ball as well in the 3rd round but just couldn’t seem to hole any putts so every time I missed a green I failed to save par which was frustrating. I was 1 under through 10 but miss clubbed a lot on the back nine, over hitting two shots which found two bushes resulting in several dropped shots. I couldn’t find anymore birdies and finished with 3 over par and left the course feeling that I could not of scored any worse considering how well I hit the ball.
In the last round I just went out to enjoy the whole experience of playing in front of a crowd and my family and close friends were there watching which meant a lot. I Started so brightly hitting it close on the first three holes but failed to knock in any of the putts which prevented me climbing the leader board. Two more shorts putts missed on the 5th and 6th prevented any flow of developing while my playing partners where knocking putts in from every direction, that added to my frustration. I continued to hit the ball very well but a bad decision on the 10th tee lead to a bogey on the easy par 5. The momentum remained disjointed with putts refusing to drop, failure to hit the green on the 15th and 17th lead to two more shots being dropped, left me on 12 over par for the tournament.
Looking back I had a fantastic week narrowly missing out on playing with Laura Davis in the 3rd round (she was on the same score and in the group in front). I hit the ball superbly most of the time, I miss clubbed to many times which cost me maybe ten shots during the week. I might not have holed as many putts as I should but I never had a three putt in the whole week which I have never achieved before, I am very happy with my progress even though I still have a lot to learn, I now feel I belong at this level and am thoroughly enjoying my job and lifestyle.
